“As for the story about Maximillan Wildes collaborating with the sea captain to spread the rumors about him being a stowaway, why, I would not doubt that a bit, because I’ve always suspected that he came from a fairly well to do family.  In fact, The Wildes –Wilds -Wild -Wilde name was well known throughout Scotland, England and Germany.   But, few people were well educated in those days and spelled it many ways.
 How Reuben Edward Wildes got his name changed to Reuben Wilds, was, that when he joined the Army, why, the major (who was German) spelled it: that way, and anyone who’s been in the Army knows that there is the Right Way and then there is the Army Way and you’d better leave it the Army way or get RED-LINED on payday (NO PAY).   So, it was, Wilds from then on.

Actually, the Major was correct.  In fact, the folks in Germany whose names are: Wildes, pronounce it VILD-TRESS.  It sounds almost like VILLTESS, while as, Wilds, they pronounce it to sound like: VILDTS. 
 I read a book entitled: THE LAST OF THE CONQUERORS, a story about W. W. II, where it mentioned that one of their motor pools was located near a small town named, WILDSDORF, in Germany.

As for most all of the first sons, however, being named, Edward, why, the way I understand it, one of our relatives married either a sister or daughter of England’s King Edward The Third, and from then on, each first son was named, Edward, as one of his names.

I have never understood why that CUYLER WALTER WILDS was not, as I thought he was a first son.
 But, of course, as you know, in the old days, most men were given a half dozen names or more, and, then as life move on, they dropped most of them.  Maybe that’s why Maxmillian only had one first name…. When he changed his name from Wilde to Wildes, he just dropped all of the others.

And talk about RACIAL MEMORY !!!  Consider the fact that my father’s name was EWARD WALTER WILDS; Then I be, ORBAN EDWARD WILDS; my son from my first marriage is MERLIN EDWARD WILDS, my brother’s first son is EDWARD WALTER WILDS, my daughter CIRCE’s first son is named ROBERT EDWARD MALONE.

RACIAL (soul) implanted memory??  None of us ever knew anything about any of our folks being related in any way to English royalty until 1978.

Being related to Edward III, they, would mean that we were also in the lineage of William, The Conqueror, of whom Edward III was a direct offspring, in THE LINE.

The also seems to coincide with the story that we were originally from Germany, but, that when William decided to go conqueror England, he needed more forces than he had.

The Danish King owed him a favor so he loaned him a division of Germans who was in pay of the Danes.  Then, when they conquered England, the most of them never came back, but stayed there.

The reason given as to why our ancestors ended up in Scotland was that our direct ancestor was not a General, but, only the rank of Colonel and when it came to dishing out the best land, he only got land in Scotland, which was not thought of as being as valuable as that in England.

Also, William wanted the most warlike soldiers up there, as the Scots had not been, totally, tamed down.  In fact, I think they are still trying to tame down some those Scots and the Irish, not to mention the Welsh!!  Of course, the Irish wars are Religious wars, but, then : what wars are not??

Then, of course, being partly descended from William, The Conqueror, this means that we are also descended from, ROLLO, the king of Norway, which went down and conquered Northern France to start with, to set up the Kingdom of Normandy, as William was a 7th son of a 7th son, in the 7th generation from ROLLO.  Hmmmm… Guess I’ll have to get out my crown and dust it off… heh, heh.”

Orban Edward Wilds parents were: Edward Walter and Bertha Jane Sharum, grandparents; Cuyler Walter and Winifred Betty Dyal Wilds, great grandparents; Reuben and Eliza Smith Wildes.
